There well be praying, singing and preaching.  Pastor Gregory B. Payton of the St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Oakland, CA will be our guest preacher.

The Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church pays tribute to the memory of one of the greatest deacons that ever lived.  Bro. Henry Pittman was a man who was dedicated to his family, the church family and to his pastor.  He was also recognized as the man of the year, an honor bestowed upon him by the California Missionary Baptist State Conventions Brotherhood Auxiliary.  Mt. Calvary family and the Strawberry Manors communities will never be the same because of the influence and dedication of Bro. Henry Pittman.  He has gone from labor to rest.  We will continue to pray for the Pittman family.

On March 26, 2006 at 3:30 p.m. several men went through the process of ordination at the Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church.  Those who were ordained did an outstanding job as they were orally examined by the Ordination Counsel.  The highlight was the ordination of the young men who were on examined to become Jr. Deacons.  They did a superb job. Congratulations to those are now ordained.    

A special thanks to those who served on the ordination counsel, and a special thanks goes to Dr. E. L Varnado, Pastor of the Macedonia Baptist Church for preaching a powerful and timely message.
